[In Singapore] TOTO Asia Oceania had organized a visit to Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home earlier this month to support the elderly residents along with a donation of $3,086 worth of essentials products for the residents in the home as part of our yearly Corporate Social Responsibility charitable cause. All staffs in TOTO Asia Oceania (Singapore branch) are encouraged to contribute and the company has generously matched the staff donations dollar for dollar as a monthly contribution to the Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home throughout 2018-2019.
Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home was established in the mid-1960s by the late Madam Lee Ah Mooi who opened the doors of her residence to retired Samsui women – referring to a group of Chinese immigrants who came to Malaya and Singapore between the 1920s and 1940s in search of construction and industrial jobs; and former Amahs who wanted a trained nurse to help care for them during their twilight years. The nursing home currently provides healthcare service to 110 aged residents. The home has basic accessibility features but more could be done to make the environment more conducive for the residents, all of whom are elderly with mobility restrictions.

TAC has been a big supporter of universal design to combat with aging population. In 2016, we partnered with Singapore’s Building and Construction Authority (BCA) and donated TOTO WASHLET to Lee Ah Mooi as part of a CSR.
