As part of TOTO’s global CSR vision, keeping our society comfortable and clean is part of our key commitment. TOTO (Singapore branch) partnered with Habitat for Humanity again this year to organize another litter picking event for 40 Singapore TOTO’s staff. This year’s litter picking took place at the central business district, Tanjong Pagar.

Littering continues to be a perennial issues in Singapore even though it’s known as the clean garden city. Despite the fines and the effort of 70,000 cleaners, tissue paper, cigarette stubs and sweet wrappers are still commonly found in the shared community space. With this CSR activity, all members in TOTO take part in this event in desire to see a differences of the surroundings beyond the immediate home.

16kg of litter were collected during the 2 session of 30 minutes litter picking. During both sessions, many litters such as cigarette stubs and sweet wrappers were very commonly found in despite trash bins were very accessible across the streets.

In addition to the CSR efforts, TOTO (Singapore branch) had also donated $25SGD per participant to Habitat as an effort to eliminate worldwide housing poverty.
