TOTO Group’s Initiatives to Respect Human Rights

TOTO Group conducts its business activities with respect for human rights as a fundamental principle. Based on the TOTO Group Human Rights Policy, the Group promotes initiatives to respect human rights across its global operations, including employees, business partners, and communities connected to its business activities.

TOTO supports internationally recognized human rights standards such as the International Bill of Human Rights, the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, and the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, integrating these principles into its corporate policies and business practices.

Human Rights Policy

TOTO Group has established the TOTO Group Human Rights Policy, which outlines the company’s commitment to respecting human rights in all business activities.

The policy applies to all officers and employees of the TOTO Group, and the company also expects its business partners and suppliers to understand and support these principles. 

Human Rights Due Diligence

TOTO conducts human rights due diligence to identify and address potential risks related to human rights within its business activities and supply chain.

  • Identifying potential human rights risks in operations and supply chains
  • Assessing the severity and likelihood of such risks
  • Implementing measures to prevent or mitigate negative impacts
  • Monitoring and reviewing the effectiveness of these measures

Through this process, TOTO works to ensure that human rights are respected throughout its value chain.

Employee Awareness

TOTO promotes awareness of human rights through employee education. These initiatives help employees understand the importance of respecting diversity, preventing discrimination and harassment, and maintaining ethical conduct in the workplace.

Responsible Supply Chain Management

TOTO also works closely with its suppliers to promote responsible business practices.

Suppliers are expected to comply with the TOTO Group Supplier Code of Conduct, which includes respect for human rights, prohibition of forced labor and child labor, and ensuring safe and fair working conditions.
